Deity animal Rescue, a rescue group in Los Angeles, received a call about a dog in distress. He lay motionless on the side of the building. Due to the cold and heavy rain, the team feared that the dog was injured and in pain. Lindsay and Ellen from the rescue group carefully approached the dog, using McDonald’s hamburgers to gain his trust and approach him.

The dog‘s lack of fur on its back and numerous calluses indicated that it had been through hard times. After sitting with him for a while and talking, the dog allowed the rescuers to put a leash on him. He seemed to know they were there to help and could trust them, but they allowed him to take his time and feel no pressure.
Eventually, the dog, later named “Dude,” got up on his own. The rescuers were relieved to see that his legs were intact. He came out of the bushes with a trail of hamburger pieces and performed a beautiful downward dog stretch that was much needed after days of no movement.

The dude didn’t hesitate to get into the car, but when the police car pulled up, he decided it was the right thing to do and climbed into it. He sat in the back seat between the rescuers all the way to the vet. Dude was diagnosed with a severe cough, a terrible skin infection, a double ear infection and dental problems. He did not have a microchip and needed to be sterilized. Dude is estimated to be around four years old and is described as one of the grandest creatures the rescue group has ever encountered.

After treatment, the puppy was healthy enough to leave the vet and start a new life full of love, leaving behind his homeless past. He was described as calm and respectful, greeting everyone he met with a gentle demeanor. Dude enjoys being pampered, getting lots of hugs and kisses.
This heartwarming story tells the incredible work of rescue groups like Deity animal Rescue who dedicate their time and resources to save animals in need and give them a chance at a better life.
