Meet Peabody, the world’s smallest and cutest horse, who has won the hearts of social media users around the world. Born too small to reach his mother’s udder and abandoned by her, Peabody’s life could have ended by euthanasia.
However, thanks to the kindness and determination of miniature horse trainer Faith Smith, this tiny foal found a loving home and a new life.

When Peabody was born, his small size and health problems led veterinarians to recommend euthanasia. After hearing about the baby horse, Faith Smith immediately rented a van and drove across the country to San Diego to meet the foal’s owners and buy it. Despite warnings that Peabody was sick, with a misaligned jaw and potential vision and hearing problems, Faith took him home and showered him with love and care.

In a strange way, Peabody’s health began to improve. His bite normalized, his legs got stronger, he gained weight. Peabody now weighs about 8 kg and has become a favorite member of the Faith family. “This is the smallest horse among its peers in the world. While there are no horses [indoor] pets, it doesn’t apply to Peabody. He’s small enough to live in the house, sleep in my bed and be friends with my dogs,” says Faith.
Peabody now enjoys walks, games and meals with his canine companions, and his foster family even teaches him how to use a diaper when they’re not home. If Peabody continues to gain weight and makes a full recovery, he may eventually live among other horses outdoors. However, if he doesn’t make a full recovery, he will stay with Faith Smith and his canine friends to live a happy and comfortable life.
