From Icarus to Inspiration: Overcoming Obstacles and Soaring High
Just a few days ago, I had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil. Many of you have heard about this unique and unusual company founded Guy Lalibertea visionary entrepreneur who turned a small troupe in Montreal, Canada into a global phenomenon that impressed and inspired millions.
One of their performances, which I remember the most, is “Flight of Icarus”. From the midnight blue darkness of the great peak emerges a brightly lit white-winged Icarus, falling to the ground, flapping its wings back and forth in slow motion.

As he falls to the ground, people gather around him, pushing and shoving his limp body, eventually stealing his wings, tying him with a fishing net, and lifting him back into the dark sky.
Just then, the motionless, lethargic Icarus frees himself from the net and takes off again, despite the loss of his wings.
We all face situations in life when we get burned, fall, or someone tries to take our wings away — our purpose, passion or hope — but, as history says, we can fly even without wings.
When it comes to health and dogs, there will always be people who try to clip our research wings and courage by belittling or ridiculing the achievements of others.
Recently, after the oldest dog in the worldAfter Bobby died, a British vet launched a campaign to remove him from the Guinness Book of World Records because he was fed unprocessed homemade food. How funny!
I am appalled by this vet’s actions because I am absolutely certain that Bobbie’s age was real. Regardless of who is behind this smear campaign, you and I know very well that feeding a natural, breed-appropriate food is better for the health of all dogs.
There will always be people who try to steal the wings of others, but that cannot stop us from raising our collective consciousness, knowledge and wisdom.
I like what Vaclav Havel, the first democratically elected president of the Czech Republic, once said:
“Truth and love will defeat lies and hatred.”
In light of recent events, I have decided to donate my time to set up a short, impromptu, free consultation to connect with you and answer any questions you may have. I already did one session last week and it was really fun.
